At Black Luxe & Co., We Want To Tell Stories From the Black Perspective.
Contributing writers will offer a male and female perspective by submitting high-quality yet relatable stories, and provide value to our readers. We want to uplift our readers, challenge popular opinion, all while constantly reminding our readers that being black is lit!
Who is the Black Luxe Reader?
Our readers are a healthy mix between "Knuck if you buck," yet sophisticated, and equally knowledgeable of current politics and corporate vernacular. Our readers can fluently express their views on economic growth within the black community, all while holding nothing back when they hear "Cash Money Records taking over for the '99 & the 2000’s."
The Black Luxe & Co. reader is woke AF, open-minded, savvy, educated, motivated, professional, entrepreneurs, students, and influencers - deeply immersed in the black community, lifestyle, and culture.
Our Goal
We want to provoke discussion, ruffle some feathers, all while sharing our personal life experiences. We have no problem challenging the social norm, dismantling generational beliefs, and calling out injustice. We want our writers to be inspired to write in a relaxed, or journalistic approach and in the most effective way to capture and engage the reader. Most importantly, we want our readers to leave feeling encouraged.
Topics
Content will range from the following topics: culture, beauty, politics, friendships, marriage, family, sex, dating, health, college, overcoming or dealing with difficult situations, and so much more!
Submission Guidelines:
Include your first and last name. Include preferred alias name.
Send full drafts on the first pitch so that we can get an idea of your writing style.
Keep post is between 400-600 words for editorial stories and 600-900 words for essays.
Wrap up your post with a closing paragraph. Ask a question or encourage readers to leave a comment.
If applicable, include links to writing samples and social media handles.
Before we will determine if you will be a good fit for Black Luxe & Co., and bring you on as a regular contributor, the first submissions from writers will be used as a trial.
